It’s a messy job – but well worth it (and you don’t have to do it yourself!)

Typically, the Japanese cars don’t come with added protection, simply because it isn’t needed as they don’t use salt on their roads!

In the UK, winter does mean gritting and salt, so a protective coating to the underside of the vehicle helps prevent rust, corrosion, and damage from water, salt, mud, and road debris.

The process involves using RC900 to convert any surface rust, then DINITROL 4010, a clear solution that looks like a factory finish. Hot bits including the exhaust are also masked.

Lasting four years, undersealing is great for off-road vehicles that are exposed to mud and water, as well as road salt, grit and general stone chips.

Does my FJ need it? That’s entirely down to you – we recommend it to avoid potential rust and erosion problems. If you want to know more, give us a call!
